Classic Margherita Pizza

Blistered homemade crust with San Marzano tomato, mozzarella and basil.

  • 250g bread flour
  • 160ml warm water
  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed San Marzano tomatoes
  • 125g fresh mozzarella
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil

Method

  1. Mix flour, water, yeast and salt into a dough; knead 8 minutes until smooth.
  2. Let rise covered for 1โ€“1.5 hours until doubled.
  3. Stretch dough onto a floured peel or tray. Spread tomato thinly.
  4. Tear mozzarella over the top and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake at the highest oven temperature (250ยฐC+) for 10โ€“12 minutes.
  6. Finish with fresh basil and a pinch of salt.
